2009 Middle California

National Testing Orientation

        

The National Testing Orientation meeting for prospective national testing (HB, C3, B, H, HA and A) candidates will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the Holiday Inn Express, 17035 Condit Road, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.  The phone number is (877) 863-4780.


The national testing orientation meeting will allow candidates to meet the Middle California Regional Officers and National Testing Committee members and also to meet the other candidates. We will cover the following topics:

  • The USPC Candidate Application: how and when to fill it out (each candidate will be provided with an Application and mailing envelope)
  • Standards and Tests Sheets for the National Tests
  • Specialty Ratings (Dressage and Show Jumping)
  • Prerequisites for taking ratings
  • Taking multiple ratings in one year
  • Making a timeline for your rating preparation
  • Middle California and Sierra Pacific Regions' calendars of events for rating preparation and test dates
  • Costs involved with taking a national rating
  • Test change and withdrawal process
  • Your questions

The meeting is mandatory for all HB and C3 candidates who have not yet taken a National Test, and is strongly recommended for all other candidates. Please let me know if you are planning to attend the meeting and if you will be bringing a parent with you. All parents, DCs and Joint DCs are encouraged to attend as well. If candidates absolutely cannot attend the meeting, a parent, DC or Joint DC may attend in their place to satisfy the mandatory attendance requirement.

Lunch will not be provided, but there are restaurants nearby. There is no fee for the meeting.
